Traveling Home

On the tenth day, we went home.
After saying “bless” (Icelandic “goodbye”) to Jóhanna, our rental car, we walked into the airport and after a series of flights, eventually arrived back in Richmond.
At home, we laid out all of our souvenirs and memorabilia, and snapped this photo.
Among the items are stickers from Icelandic businesses, Icelandic candies including Þristur and Kandís, sand from the Black Sand Beaches, a collectible, Iceland themed Moomin mug, a decorative mjólk drinking glass with cats on it, art prints, attraction brochures, decorative patches of the rainbow road leading to Hallgrímskirkja, a Bónus shopping bag and beanie, Kókómjólk containers, a color coded soil map of Iceland, a souvenir thimble, rhubarb syrup, volcanic and assorted rocks, a hot dog wrapper, and more!
If you have any questions about the trinkets we collected, make sure to comment below!
This was the trip of a lifetime and we never could have conceptualized how mind and spirit altering it would be. We can’t thank you all enough for supporting us on this journey, and we hope this digital exhibit of our time in Iceland will demonstrate the enormous impact it had on us.
Við elskum þig! (We love you!)
